The Italian champions were quick to relief as Maurizio Sarri, 61, of his position which serves as the price to pay for their Champions League exit at the hands of Lyon on Friday night, and they did not waste time to replace him with Andrea Pirlo their form midfielder and club legend on a two-year contract.
Andrea Pirlo made 164 appearances for Juventus between the years 2011 and 2015, he has recently named the manager of Juventus Under-23s in just 10 days, and has now be promoted to the head coach of Juventus immediately.
According to Skysports news: A Juventus statement read: “The club has decided to entrust him with the technical leadership of the first team, after having already selected him for Juventus Under-23.
“Today’s choice is based on the belief that Pirlo has what it takes to lead, from his debut on the bench, an expert and talented squad to pursue new successes.”
A club statement read: “Juventus announces that Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his post as coach of the first team.
Sarri, was able to deliver another Serie A title to Juventus before he was sacked on Saturday due to the club’s last-16 exit in the Champions League, on away goals to Lyon.
